Then enjoy live entertainment from Reece Mastin and get your groove on after the last race!

You can also enjoy the Ararat RSL Fashions on the Field, Free kid’s activities from Kelly Sports Australia with free Country Racing backpacks for the kids on arrival. Our Boat Race is also back again this year featuring as our version of half-time entertainment kindly sponsored by Westway Nursery and Garden Centre.

Family Fun event at the Great Western Races

We encourage racegoers to embrace country casual; where you can enjoy backing a winner from the bar and bookmakers ring on course. We have plenty of shade to offer under the beautiful old pine trees for those looking to watch the races from a great undercover spot.

There is also FREE CAMPING all weekend which means you can base yourself at the Great Western Racing and Recreation Reserve to see our local wineries on Saturday, including Best's Wines - Great Western Seppelt Wines Grampians Estate Minersridge Vineyard ATR Wines. We also have our breakfast spot covered at Salingers of Great Western with dinner down at Great Western Hotel (both in walking distance).
